Puzzlegeddon Guide

Puzzlegeddon is built up around matches for up to 6 players, computer or human controlled. In a match you puzzle to collect resources which are then used to attack and defend against your opponents.

Puzzling in Puzzlegeddon is done on the square puzzle board. The puzzle board is made up of blocks in four colors and the player can shuffle these blocks around by moving rows and columns. As a block is moved out of one edge it will wrap around the board and appear at the other side. This mechanic makes the puzzle mode similar to a flattened version of a Rubik’s Cube.

The object of the puzzle mode is to connect blocks of the same color in as big groups as possible. The four colors all represent a specific resource and when a big combination of blocks has been created the player clicks the transform button and the blocks are transformed into resources.

There are four resources meters positioned above the puzzle board, one for each color and resource. When blocks are transformed into resources these meters will fill up. As the resources in a meter has reached a certain level the meter will light up. This indicates that the player has collected enough resources to purchase an ability of that resource type.

This is where it’s time to take action!

There are four different resource types in Puzzlegeddon: Attack, Defense, Boost and Disrupt. Each is represented by a color. This color is consistent through the whole process of the Puzzlegeddon gameplay. The red color for example, represents Attack resources and abilities. As the player transforms red puzzle blocks the red Attack resource meter will fill up. These resources are then used to buy Attack abilities that are used on opponents.

The playfield of Puzzlegeddon is located on a globe and spread out along the horizon of this globe are all players competing in a match. The players are charecterized as islands on the globe. To use an ability the player simply needs to aim towards the desired target player using the mouse (or analog stick if a gamepad is used). When aiming at a player the ability menu will appear displaying the abilities available for use. All abilities in the menu are mapped to a specific button, the left and right mouse button when using a mouse, and to use an ability a click of this button is all that is needed.

When an ability is used it will appear around the globe as missiles flying, shields shattering or wormholes unfolding depending on what type of ability is used.

Can you spot the wormholes, abilities menus and other stuff mentioned above?
